Volunteering & Mentoring

Volunteer Your Time

We rely on the kind support of volunteers to raise funds throughout the year. Why not join our team of volunteers and help us to support Manchester families and community projects?

Volunteering at our events is really rewarding and lots of fun. You can even volunteer to be our mascot Bletchely Bee for the day!

If you are interested please email with your contact details.

In our aspirational mentoring project, young people are matched to a business volunteer for a period of one year. Young people are supported to identify goals and supported to reach these goals through fortnightly meetings in the workplace.

Access to the world of work develops confidence, a professional network and key employability skills such as teamwork and communication. This mentoring also includes a high quality work experience placement for which students receive a £100p/week bursary, from the Charity, to cover travel and other costs.

“Leeland and I have been working together for the last couple of months and we have been starting to get to know each other. Leeland is a fantastic young person currently studying Engineering at the Manchester college. During the mentoring, he has met some members of staff from One Manchester who have all commented on how well Leeland comes across. He is looking to get more knowledge of the world of work, so we will continue to meet in the workplace introducing Leeland to the various departments that One Manchester has. I am proud to be part of the project and give a young Mancunian a helping hand into the adulthood.”

Duncan Hempson from One Manchester
