Final blaze of glory for We Love MCR Firewalkers!

Last month's St. Peter's Square firewalkers have had their final fundraising totals counted, and our top fundraiser has been rewarded!

Huge Manc congratulations, and thanks, to Ruth Denton who was our top fundraiser with an incredible £1,350! She won the top prize of a sought-after We Love MCR Charity t-shirt, and a selection of boxed luxury wines and spirits that will double as an early Christmas present. Ruth, an employee at one of our key corporate partners Manchester City Council, was ecstatic at the amount she raised for our work:

I'm overwhelmed by the response to my sponsorship ask! I must admit I wasn’t quite sure what I was letting myself in for, but I can honestly say the Mcr Firewalk has been one of the best things I've done in a long time.

I'd encourage anyone looking for a mind-over matter challenge to watch out for We Love MCR Charity's new challenge in 2022 - they know how to create a fantastic event! It's amazing to think I've raised so much money for such an amazing charity, and I have witnessed first-hand the amazing work We Love MCR does. Thank you to everyone who sponsored me!

The next highest fundraisers making up the top 3 were Nin Khoshaba of Hive Projects, and Mandy Ward of HPE Manchester (another of our corporate partners) who raised an amazing £962 and £944 respectively!

Thanks to every single last one of you brave firewalkers, you raised over £18,000 - making this We Love MCR's most successful self-organised fundraising event ever!

We will use the funds raised to support local communities via our Stronger Communities Fund, and to remove barriers to success for young Mancunians through our Manchester's Rising Stars Fund.
