Anne grew up in Manchester and brought up her family here too, with her children attending Abbey Hey School in her footsteps. Anne’s first career was as a teacher, and then she worked in the family’s surveying and planning business.
Anne has served the City and her community for decades and in many capacities. She served on the Airport Authority and the Police Committee, and later as a City Councillor. Anne has also served on North Manchester Healthcare Trust and then Pennine Acute Trust as a Non-Executive Director.
Anne has maintained her involvement in education through being a Governor at a number of schools across the city. She’s currently Chair of Governors at All Saints School, West Gorton.
Anne is actively involved with residents groups in Gorton, working to improve the environment and opportunities for the community. She is a proud Mancunian who loves the ever-changing diversity of the city and its radical history.
