Manchester City Council’s City Solicitor

I started as the new City Solicitor in Manchester June 2018. I have a passion for making a difference for the people we serve and I’m really enjoying being here in Manchester. I’ve worked in local government for over 25 years in London and Stoke and I haven’t lost the feeling of excitement that achieving good things for our communities brings.

As City Solicitor, I’m keen to make sure the barriers don’t stop us doing the things we want to do to improve life in Manchester. I want to ensure we use the fund to make a difference to the lives of our most deserving and vulnerable citizens.

I am first and foremost so proud to be part of such a dedicated excellent workforce, and a city that has a sense of pride in everything, from its buildings, to the way it cares about its fellow man. I have learnt a lot about Manchester ways of working since being here and I am continuing to experience the wonderful way Manchester works looking at individuals’ key strengths.

I am delighted by how the fund can help families and young people when they are having a difficult time.
