Challenge Event Series

Fundraising events are one of the most important ways that we raise money to sustain our programme of good works across Manchester. But at We Love MCR Charity, much like our city, we tend to do things a bit differently...

Each year, we host unique mind-over-matter fundraisers as part of our Challenge Event Series. The Series gives our loyal supporters a chance to raise vital funds for our work, whilst coming away with unforgettable memories!

VALENTINE'S DIP 2023

  • Sale Water Park - Sat 18th Feb

The next instalment of our Challenge Event Series is a sponsored dip in Sale Water Park, wearing anything BUT a wetsuit, when the water temperature is at its coldest all year!

This will be a brilliant event for family, friends and loved ones to attend in support. Refreshments and a group yoga class will be offered, and expert training before the event will be given from Wim-Hof-trained Jane McCormick of OpenSwim!

Prospective 'dippers' will be helping us raise vital funds so we can support our city's communities and ambitious young people, whilst having an amazing experience with cold water immersion experts.

We've also secured heated tents to change in so you've less to worry about when leaving the water!

Act NOW to secure your place. Please take these steps to Register:

  1. Make sure you read the technical requirements and accessibility notes below.

  2. Fill out the registration form at this link. Forms are submitted to us in date-order - do this now so you have the best chance to secure your place. We will email an acknowledgement.

  3. Pay an event entry fee of £10, which helps to cover the event costs. Payments can be made on JustGiving via this link. (Make sure you select “One-Off” payment option). Please then email your receipt to nicholas.clarke@manchester.gov.uk to confirm your payment.

  4. Set up an online JustGiving Sponsorship Page by pressing the 'Start Fundraising' button on the page at this link, then send your individual Fundraising Page link via email to nicholas.clarke@manchester.gov.uk . You need to set a minimum fundraising target of at least £150 on your page (or higher if you prefer), and to raise at least £150 as a condition of participating in the Dip.

Accessibility:

We make our events as inclusive as possible. The water is not accessible for wheelchair users as we will be unable to add any hoist mechanism (pictured). We will do whatever we can to facilitate your dip, potentially including a guide to accompany you. Each person will be considered as an individual, with a personalised response.
