We Love MCR Charity was thrilled to be the charity partner at Manchester Trainee Solicitors Group’s ‘Winter Ball’, last Friday December 3rd.
MTSG are a new Charity Partner of ours for 2021 and invited our Development Manager, Ged, to attend the event and talk to the crowd of Manchester’s brightest young legal minds about our work in Manchester.
The event took place at the stunning Imperial War Museum North, in Salford Quays, where guests wined and dined whilst also raising funds with a brilliant silent auction and a raffle that the organisers played a blinder in sourcing prizes for.
The auction lots were for stays in the Lakes and Edinburgh, with the raffle consisting of various prizes from the city’s many barrister’s chambers, alongside city centre business prizes from the likes of Alchemist, Whistlepunks, Piccadilly Morrisons and Breakout Manchester. Not to mention a £100 restaurant voucher from our friends at Manchester Confidentials.
The total raised was a fantastic £1,764.90! A sum the MTSG wider family can be proud of and will go far in supporting Manchester’s communities and young people.
Reflective of MTSG’s holistic approach to our partnership, also in attendance were two photographers of the event - Abdi and Dylan – who are recent successful awardees from our Manchester’s Rising Stars Fund!
Both young men have ambitions of making a career in photography, which we've funded them with equipment to pursue, and were glad to have the opportunity to professionally shoot the event - MTSG said they were “brilliant”. Both were paid for their time by MTSG, and Dylan’s photos are present in this article.
The night was just another example of fantastic fundraising by MTSG, after previous social event fundraisers and also entering a daring team into the We Love MCR Firewalk in October. We look forward to the next chapter of our relationship with MTSG if the first was anything to go by!
